The inventor of the first anti-gravity engine, Dr. Jyte Gamerdinger said, “Time is the measurement of existence. History is the judgment of that existence.” Then he turned his engine on and knocked the earth off its axis by and inch. Luckily there was a fix, take the engine to the exact other side of the earth and turn it on again. Never mind the two cities ruined in the process, or the countless whales that beached themselves that year. Of course without this invention hitting the brakes at warp speed would be rather messy. I am not talking coffee on the dashboard messy, I am talking everyone in the starship being liquified when the hit they dashboard messy.
I bought a pack of colored ultra fine point sharpies. Any new type of medium means I going to waste at least one sheet of paper to scribbles for testing. Almost always I will see a scribble that I can save or turn into something on a new sheet of paper. A “turn” is when you scribble a random line and then see what you can turn it into, then proceed to make it into what you see. A “save” is when after you are done scribbling you see something hiding in the collection of shapes and redraw that object on a new sheet of paper. An example of one of my “saves” is Uninvited Dragon. The doodle above is a “turn.”
Tillo was a summoner who swore he would never call upon the spirit of his dead mother-in-law, but when his village was attacked by the 3 eyed, 5 tusked beast know as Pigslop, He knew of no other soul terrible enough to defeat the creature. After the battle was over, his mother-in-law refused to leave and haunted the guest room for two weeks. During this time, Tillo wondered if being gored by a monster would have been so bad.
I was not planning on showing this. It was and experiment. I started off with a brush rather than with pen or pencil. The back story that popped in my head during breakfast was just in my opinion to funny not to be told. So here it is!
I started out ready to draw but a still sore hand from work forced nothing more than a scribble. Lines were added till I saw where an eye was, then drew an eye where an eye should be. From there the mouth and neck. Not being great with proper anatomy, quick flowing lines for arms were used. I rubbed my sore hand and then saw what this was to become. A Genie in a Bottle was to be formed, but not a handsome fellow with a tongue full of charm to aid in deception! No, this Genie has giving up on that! He flies from his bottle drunk as hell yelling, “What the @#%$& do you want and make it quick! Oh, I will @#%$& you and your dreamy wishes… Hey where you going? Get the hell back here!”
