The New Broom
The New Broom
My the original broom concept was bothering me all day. One of my followers made a comment on another doodle that just confirmed my thoughts. I did not want to go the Disney Fantasia way but I forced myself to doodle it and now I like it. I made him smaller, more the size of a fireplace broom. I also realized that he wold make the perfect “Straight Man” character to the comedy team. The one that says, “We need to clean this up!” or “You don’t belong in here, get out!”

Still messing around with my characters. I am happy with every one but the broom. (the one to the right) I am thinking about putting a straw hat on its head, maybe something like a “Pork Pie.” Remember fellow bloggers, when in doubt, do a cannonball!

So here are some things you might find interesting about me.
1: I have a deaf, autistic son. He is the Calvin to my Hobbes, the Costello to my Abbott. He is my funny bone. If you hang around him for long you will catch a bad case of giggles.
2: I like to play guitar. I have an old Martian D1 that I love. I have an electric guitar but it is just a tool. I made a CD of original songs. If you really want to hear one of my songs go to My Song Page . It is called “And You Try”.
3: I am an average working Joe. I make not money from art, and due to the bad economy I now live paycheck by pay check. I work in a mail shop running machines that fill envelopes with junk mail, The only time I get to be creative is when I get to print fancy lettering on them with the ink-jets.
4: I hate the smell of peaches more so fake peaches. Peach candy is like garlic to a vampire to me.
5: I like to smoke a cigar and drink a beer once in a while. I can go months without ever thinking about beer or cigars but I can’t go a day without coffee. I don’t like soda, just coffee for my caffeine!
6: I am a big skeptic, but love watching shows on conspiracies, the paranormal and prophecies.
7: I can be real pain in the butt. I might be a little weird at times and sarcastic.

I am working the shapes of my little Hogboons. Thought I share this one, and remember when in doubt run like the wind!
Introduction
Hogboons
I would like you to introduce you to Missy Ann and her Hogboons. The world has not been so kind to Missy. She lost her parents. How and why I have not really determined, but she now lives with her Aunt or Uncle, or maybe both. They have moved out of the city to a rural area. Her caregiver(s) moved them into an old farm-house that was rather empty except for 3 items, a broom, a small bucket and a balloon that was left behind from a realtor’s open house party.
Either due to an act of a lonely child’s imagination, God sending her 3 childlike angels or old fairy folk that have never grown up, she is no longer alone. Missy Ann now has three best friends. These little Hogboons are mischievous. They are a mix of The Marx Brothers, Abbott and Costello with any of the old-time monsters and the 3 Stooges, but they love Missy.
I have had this idea for a while. Originally the Hogboons where going to be a ghost, a Frankenstein monster and the Jersey Devil made out of an old curtain, a garbage can and a broom. It is a mix of all the things I like, examples are Calvin and Hobbies, the above said comedians and My Neighbor Totoro.
I do not know if I will turn this into a little comic for this blog. I will try, but no promises.

The Frustration of Stress
The Frustration of Stress
My job! That is all I need to say. It was challenging at first, but I have come to realize I am not going to beat the problems, I am going to have to deal with them. I was a victim of the bad economy. Two years I was a house dad. Best two years ever, but I was glad to go back to work. I was happy I found a job, but I really need a new one. I like burgers, I don’t need a pound of stress to turn those burger into heart attacks!

I don’t know what to call this thing. It was inspired by studying graffiti characters, though I may be insulting that art form by saying so. The “3c” to the right is my new “tag.” I borrowed my son’s Crayola Pip Squeak makers for this one.
